Old fashioned Sled Ride

Doesn't this bring back memories of swishing down that hill on your favorite old sled.
It does for me.  I used the newest Christmas images Sleigh Ride and some of that darling
pom pom trim available here also. They remind me of snowballs. But they don't melt!!!!

Sleigh Ride Gift Box

Top view

View of side of box
I really love the newly released Christmas stamp  sheet Sleigh Ride. The images are so beautiful. Here I used one of the images to decorate a gift box. Using pine needle distress ink, I colored the box. Then the image was stamped on a piece of cardstock with music notes stamped on it. The image was die cut using a Spellbinders die. I used my gold pen to trim around the die cut. I die cut the flourishes in red and attached to the top of the box along with the image. A bow and tag with sentiment finished the top. Along the sides I attached some crocheted trim (available in Outpost Attic Finds). I'd sure love to receive a Christmas gift in a box decorated like this.

Pumpkin Trio

The pumpkins from Artistic Outpost's Vintage Halloween were perfect for my card for this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge.
I stamped the pumpkin three times with Indigo Ink on orange cardstock and clear embossed. I cut out each pumpkin and used a white opaque pen to color in the eyes.

To make my pumpkin stems, I rolled a piece of kraft cardstock into a tube using double sided tape at the end to hold it together. I used a craft knife to cut a slit in the top of each pumpkin and then slid the stem inside, securing it from the back. I twisted some copper wire to make a stem. I used foam tape to attach the pumpkins, so I could shape them a bit for dimension.

I finished with the sentiment from the set and two ghost brads. The background paper is from Reminisce.

Nostalgic Winter Land

Hello to Artistic Outpost readers
I have a card to share using the Sleigh Ride stamps.  The vintage boy and girl gathering berries and bushes in the woods are so adorable.

I embossed the image of the boy and girl, colored with water colors paints, then I masked the image to create the background using Tim Holtz Distress inks.  The pattern paper is from Basic Grey " Jovial".
The white crochet ribbon is from Outpost Attic Finds

Winter Wonderland Visit

Yeah it is Friday!

Look at the sweet vintage children all dressed up for Christmas and delivering gifts.  They are so adorable and you know they are going to visit someone carrying gifts.

They look beautiful on an ornament created using a few dies as a backdrop. That ornament can also be used as a lovely embellishment on a card.

Doesn't the ornament look  wonderful with the row of trees in the background and the snowflakes on the gold panel? The ornament can even be removed after the card is received!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Nostalgic Christmas with Snowy Woods

If you love the look of Vintage Santas, and the feeling of luminous winter nights...then Snowy Woods stamp plate reveals all the wonderful  images you will need to create the perfect nostaligic cards for Christmas.

I used Sizzix Texture Plates for the first background and Tim Holtz Wood Grain Texture Fades folder for the brown layer.  The blue circle is a diecut from Spellbinders: the 1/4 Eyelet Scallop Circle template.  Techniques on this card are from Technique Junkies Newsletter: Cuttlebug Hightlights, Bleach Swipes, and Pulled Glimmers.

Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror on the wall. Who's the scariest one of all?
I couldn't resist stamping the new Halloween images along with a few old favorites on an old vintage mirror I picked up at an Estate sale.
I used the newest Haunted Halloween plate and Vintage Halloween plate. and it all hangs from some of the cool new Ribbon in that perfect Fall Color.

Haunted Halloween.

I know I will be sad when the Halloween season is gone. I am just loving this Haunted Halloween set. This dapper skeleton is my absolute favorite from the set (at least today). I also think that the flying bats are great. they make a wonderful background. Flying bats are really cool, as long as they are on a stamp and not in the air around me. Enjoy the season!

Wendy and Peter

This image from the Neverland Collection is perfect for paper piecing. I paper pieced Peter's outfit and hat and Wendy's hair and nightgown with scraps of designer papers. I used colored pencils on the rest of the image.

I created my mats with the same paper I used to paper piece the image. I finished with a some Outpost Attic Finds ribbon and a border punch accented with bling.

Fantacy Neverland and Haunted Halloween

" You know the place between sleep and awake, the place where you  can still remember dreaming".
Don't you just love this Tinkerbell image!!   I mounted this beautiful fairy on glossy cardstock and then metal backgrounds. Both pieces were dry embossed and inked with Alcohol inks.

"At twelve o'clock, you must be ready, for by it's rays o'candlelight
on Halloween...... all things are bright".
Love this vintage gal...she is the highlight of Haunted Halloween stamp plate. The Warhole technique is perfect for this image.  She stands proud and graceful with her broom.

All Know the Way

The Thai Buddha plate was one of the fabulous designs that first drew my attention to Artistic Outpost stamps ... and it's one I never tire of using.

Several images from the set were stamped in brown ink on designer paper. The background panels are scraps of Core'dinations cardstock that were embossed and sanded.

Flying Along on a Friday

Happy Friday!

There is something about hot air balloons. I love to see them in the sky. They always are so interesting and beautiful.  The Paris Exposition collection has so many wonderful images, including the hot air balloons. The hot air balloons are gorgeous in this collection.  I wanted to ink them up and get them on paper along with the fabulous Eiffel tower which inspired this card.

Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Cracker Jack

Summer is soon over and with the end of summer comes the end of the baseball season. My card is a tribute to baseball seasons gone by. Well, actually I think that the Cracker Jack set of stamps makes a wonderful masculine card. The player is dressed using the Pieced Zines technique from the February/March 2010 Technique Junkies newsletter. Although it is hard to see from the scan, the player has been popped; and the ball has been double popped.

A Haunting We Will Go

I love that the new trims from the Outpost Attic Finds are neutral colors, so they can be dyed to any shade you want. For my Haunted Halloween design, I sprayed several purple inks mists and glimmer mists into a plastic sandwich bag, threw in my piece of trim, and moved it around inside the bag until it was saturated (no inky fingers this way).
To finish the card, I wrapped the trim around a card base covered with Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland Papers (love how the design works with Mr. Bones and his top hat). I stamped Mr. Bones on lavender cardstock and again on black cardstock to paper piece his hat. I used a black marker to color his cane.

The final step was cutting my sentiment stamp in half (one of my favorite things about unmounted stamps), so I could split my sentiment to work with the narrow card design.

Creative Moods with Haunted Halloween

More of "Haunted Halloween"....I  adore the creative versatility of this stamp plate.
The images are adaptable and co-ordinate beautifully with each other.
Whether you are making cards, altered art or scrapbooking; you can produce a range of creative moods using different techniques with the same stamps.
I used  skill-methods, which I  learned from Techqnique Junkies Newsletter: Alcohol Ink Splash on (Wallpaper) 10-05, Createx Creations 04-08, Starburst 04-06 and Word Frames Aug/Sept 2010.

Halloween Treat Box

Make this open-topped treat box out of a full sheet of cardstock.  Score ever 2 1/2" across, and you'll have a 1/2" flap at the end to attach it all together.  Score 2 1/2" up from the bottom too, so the bottom folds up and closes.

Pretty in Pink?

What do you think? Is this witch pretty in pink?
She is so fun to color with Copics!
I used some of the new trims from Artistic Outpost.
You can see them all here!
I created the paper behind the witch
by stamping the skeleton repeatedly
with Versamark, then rubbing Pearl Ex over it.
All images from Haunted Halloween.

Starfish

Hi! Suzz here. I had this idea of creating a starfish project using the beautiful Beyond the Sea stamps. I spent a little time creating the shape of my starfish.  After I finished my starfish I put it on a nice soft background.

Here is my starfish by itself:

I thought it was lovely but wanted to showcase it on a background, so I played around and I came up with this:

I am going to find a frame to hang up in my crafty space.

Have a lovely Friday!

Haunted Halloween Book

Lynn here and I thought I'd share another project using the new Haunted Halloween images.
I stamped the images on hand dyed fabrics added some gauze and a few spooky embellishments.
Happy Haunting!

Mr. Bones

Hi, Lisa here today and I have a quick and easy Halloween card to share with you using the skeleton image from the new Haunted Halloween plate.  The image is stamped in Black Archival Ink on Vanilla card stock. To add color, I used Distress Inks and the Burnt Edges Technique then spritzed on a bit of water to remove a little color.  The Green Seam Binding can be found in the Artistic Outpost Store under Outpost Attic Findings, background papers are from the Basic Grey Eerie Collection.

Distant Generations

When I was challenged with the theme "I Remember", I immediately thought of this wonderful set of vintage stamps entitled and honoring Distant Generations. I just love this image. It reminds me of old family photos. I stamped it in black on white to keep with the idea of a photograph. I painted over it with a layer of clear distress crackle paint to give it an aged texture. The image had a row of lace running across the bottom, so I added a piece of beautiful vintage lace embellishment from the new department at Artistic Outpost called Outpost Attic Findings. The sentiment, which is only too true, is also from the stamp set. Behind the image I used a distressed newspaper background and I added three vintage buttons to keep with the aged feel.
