Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
When I first received the Paperboy plate I ran into the family room and dug through the newspaper trying to find pieces of the paper to use with the plate. I had a hard time finding paper that didn't have images, ads or other things to distract from my sweet little boy. When I found a few different pages from the paper that met my criteria, I tore pieces to fit the center of the card. I crumpled up the newspaper and layered the torn pieces in the center of the card. I distressed around the edges and the background with a brown dye ink. I painted the center of the main piece with white acrylic paint and stamped the paperboy using brown ink. I highlighted his image with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush. I stamped the Extra word on two more pieces of newspaper which were torn and distressed to match. I finished off the card with a little twine and a button.
