Altered Tin

Hi, Kate here today!  I love altering and repurposing items but Altoid tins are top on my list. They are the perfect size for a small assemblage and great for showing off your favorite stamps.

Altered Tin Designed by Kate Yetter

I primed my tin using a coat of gesso and then painted it with various acrylic paints. I added a rust finish using distress embossing powder. The inside of my tin is decorated using metal charms, corrugated cardboard and stamps from the ‘Paris Exposition’ stamp plate. I colored the female image using Distress Markers and then covered her in a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint. I then went over her with distress ink to fill in the cracks after the crackle paint was dry.

Thank you for stopping by and remember there is one day left to play along with the March Referral Challenge.

This is fabulous, Kate! You and your DT colleagues are making such great stuff and I have been remiss about looking and not commenting so I must rectify this!
