Diesel Punk Tag

Happy Saturday everyone! Didn't you just love the March new release stamps??? I am in love...as always! I will be showing you my projects with the new stamps next week, because I wanted to give you a look at my favorite AO tag to date using last month's release.
I wanted an edgy tag, and what could be edgier than Diesel Punk...love that combustion engine...vroom vroom.  I love these images, especially the motor cycle. It's chic and hip, but bad to the bone as well! Although you can't see it very well, the background images are stamped in StazOn Silver using the Industrial Chic (how appropriate) set atop an Alcohol Ink base. All the other images are heat embossed...the sentiments in gold and the motorcycle and lady in Black Soot. The 60 is stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink on top of the film strip. I completely ran out of gears and had to stock up after this project.
I look forward to next weekend with you, as I show you my first project using the new March stamps. Until then, I hope you stamp it on up soon!

Flower Market Altered Book

Happy Friday!

I love the new release and am thrilled we can share our projects using the new plates.  The flowers and butterflies in the Flower Market and had me inspired creating a variety of projects.

My first project was to try an altered book. The images were all stamped on white cardstock and colored with watercolor pencils and a water brush.  The book was smeared with white acrylic paint and sponged with brown dye ink to soften the text.

I used images from the Flower Market, Paris Exposition, and Neverland

Have a wonderful weekend!

Flower Market

I've been using the fabulous new release FLOWER MARKET this week to decorate my altered vintage tin. I sanded the tin and coloured with alcohol inks adding a vintage trim for interest.  The inside has been decorated with vintage papers from an old book and coloured with Distress Ink to blend with the outside of the tin.  My dragonfly has been added to acetate to give the appearance of it floating within the tin.
I've also framed the girl into a small frame I found in my stash again coloured it a little with Distress Inks, added a few of the poppies and the fabulous sentiment and added a little dimension with a bird brass charm.

Thanks for stopping by.

The First Birds of Spring

Greetings! Yvonne here with a card I made using the Bluebird plate from Artistic Outpost. I have loved birds my entire life, and several years back when birds hit the stamping scene, I was immediately drawn to this beautiful plate of stamps, which have stood the test of time and remained among my very favorite. The embossed background was distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and the images were stamped with Black StazOn Ink onto Mushroom card stock and also distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The birds were colored in lightly with a light blue Copic Maker. Embellishments include burlap material, vintage blue buttons, vintage seam binding and ivory and black ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Look Right!

Oooh, don't you just love those red phone booths?  Such a wonderful English icon!   For this card, I used London Elements and Loverly London.  I had some fun using the masking technique on this piece.  The phone booths were stamped with Barn Door Distress Ink.  The background was stamped on kraft with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.  I distressed the panel with random splats made from of a mixture of Vintage Photo DI and water.  The Welcome to London sign is a stamp from this set and I used Shelly Hickox's Fuax Crazed Enamel technique to create my sign.  And how fun is that "Look Right" pointing finger/arm.  This is a great London set - very versatile with lots of fun images that you are sure to get a lot of use from.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great weekend!

Lovely Day ATC's

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!! The Artistic Outpost Design Team just held it's monthly Blog Hop!!! Our challenge was to use the Lovely Day Stamp Set. I made this set of ATC's using the flower and sentiment images.
I decided to finally bust out the Distress Markers and see what these babies could really do, and I am not disappointed! I used them on all the stamp images directly, then stamped onto manila ATC sized paper. I inked the blue background as well, but the markers resisted the ink, so there was no blending.  I spritzed with water to get the watercolor look. I also stitched on the top border before stamping and heat embossing my sentiment. The eggs are from the Birds of a Feather Stamp Set.
I hope you get the chance to stamp soon! Have a wonderful weekend.

I've been using the fabulous images from the Charles & Amelia and Industrial Backgrounds plates from Artistic Outpost.
I stamped images from the Industrial Backgrounds to create a collage background and sponged with vintage photo Distress Ink. The images are stamped in coffee and black Archival Ink.

I added a few mini gears and game spinner for added interest and matted onto wine coloured card adding the fabulous sentiment to the inside.

Welcome to London!

Greetings and Happy First Day of Spring! I have a tag to share with you today that incorporates images from London Underground, Loverly London and London Elements. It also includes a post card I created from Ephemera Backgrounds. I was thrilled last year when London Underground and Loverly London were released, and with the recent addition of London Elements, the breadth of options for creating London-inspired projects is even broader. Some of my favorite images in this most recent release are the pigeons (I always seem to add them in multiples!) and the London Bridge (its a nice addition to the other landmark images).

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Cat's Meow!

Hi everyone,

I hope you al had a great St. Patrick's Day!  I made this card a couple of weeks ago for the Artistic Outpost February release. It was made with the new Diesel Punk set. I had so much fun playing with gesso. I found a wonderful tutorial by Paulien Vandenbosh here and followed it. The stamping was done with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink and the sponging over the gesso was done with Tattered Rose and Weathered Wood DI.  I love the black millinery netting - it gives a wonderful air of mystery to the piece. Perfect for our lady's hat!

So happy you stopped by today to see what the design team had to share!

The Deisel Punk Beginning Driver

My son has just obtained his driver's permit after turning 15, so I made him this card for his birthday. Isn't this stamp set perfect for a beginning driver??? The Diesel Punk images are so versatile for themes, and the Industrial Chic images are versatile for just about anything you want to alter or embellish. Can you see how I altered the date from 1779 to 1997...perfect that it worked that way for my son! I was so excited to give him this card, and he just loved it and gave me a huge hug! I am sure he will treasure it always!
I stamped all the images using Archival Ink in Jet Black. All the Diesel Punk images were also heat embossed using Black Soot Distress Embossing Powder, then were colored in using watercolor pencils and glaze pens. All of the background sentiments were stamped in StazOn Silver.
I hope you have a wonderful creative Saturday, and a happy St. Patrick's Day!

Fly around the World

Happy Friday!

Sharing a card today using the Charles & Amelia and Industrial Backgrounds Plate. I decided to change up from my browns and bring in some beautiful colors using glimmer mist.  The background is white cardstock sprayed with a combination of yellows, greens and blues.  The map was stamped on multiple panels to create the grid background pattern.  The main images were stamped and heat embossed using black embossing powder to give a glossy finish. The Discover sentiment is from the Huck Finn plate.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Adventure Is Worthwhile In Itself

I've been using the fabulous Charles & Amelia plate once again to create my adventurous piece.
I created a background using torn paper from a vintage book and coloured with Distress Ink aged mahogany, matting onto coordinated card. I also added a little background stamping with black Archival Ink.
My images have been stamped onto white card and coloured with brushed corduroy Distress Ink to age a little, adding to black card to lift from the background. A little more stamping from the Industrial Background plate adds a little more interest along with some old vintage stamps.

Don't forget Artistic Outpost's March Referral theme SPRINGPUNK, all the details of which you can find HERE.

Thanks for popping by.

Come Fly with Me

Hi Lisa here today, sharing a few cards made with the Industrial Chic and Charles & Amelia plates.

To create the card above, I stamped and masked the images to create the collage.  When it came to placement of the flag from the She-roes set, I inked the flag with Spice Tin and Chili Powder inks, then removed the ink on the image of the lady, and stamped over my masks using a SAMJ.
For the background on this card I used the Gelli Plate along with Jenni Bowlin Acrylic Inks, pressing some punchanella into the paint for some added texture. Once dry, I added some gears from the Industrial Backgrounds plate in Spice Tin and Brown Sugar inks.

To create the collage of images, I stamped the image from the Industrial Background in Spice Tin, sponged the edges and layered on a Blue card stock panel.  The  other images are from the Charles & Amelia plate stamped in Brown Sugar and Spice Tin.  I sponged the edges, cut out the images and adhered them to the background image.

Have a great day!

Fly Around the World

Greetings! Today, I am sharing a tag with you made from the Industrial Chic, Charles and Amelia and Typography plates by Artistic Outpost. I just love how all these plates work so well together!

The background was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and the focal images were stamped with Festive Berry Distress Ink and in some cases Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. The propellers and the plane were attached with dimensionals. I chose embellishments that lean to the masculine side to finish my tag. This will make a great tag for my nephew's upcoming graduation!

Thanks for dropping by!

Honoring Amelia

I wanted to share another of the cards I made for the February Artistic Outpost release using the Charles and Amelia set.  This one features the image of Amelia Earhart. A rugged individualist, yes, but I wanted to keep the card more on the soft and feminine side, honoring her as a female aviation pioneer.  I started by stamping various images from the set in versamark onto vanilla CS and then clear embossed it. From there, I sponged it using Broken China and Creamy Caramel. I created a white rosette with a touch of Creamy Carmel sponging. The image was stamped with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink and the rest of the stamping was done with Broken China DI, sponged over with Creamy Caramel and a hit of Vintage Photo DI. I cut the AVIATION seal out of the post mark stamp from this set. The words 'Dream', 'Explore' and 'Discover' are from the Huck Finn set. I gave Amelia a little bling with the matching rhinestones and silver glass glitter on the clothes pin. The propeller was silver embossed on black CS and the sentiment banner was cut with the Tattered Banners die.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Tea For Two

Happy Saturday everyone! Here is a card I made for the February Release using the new  London Elements Stamp Set, and a favorite, the London Underground set . How I wish I had time to sit everyday at the same time to have a cup of tea with wonderful , homemade biscuits. What a fantastic past time!
To make my card I stamped the images using Archival Jet Black Ink on Cake Kitchen Paper's Vintage Kitchen Notes, and they were heat embossed with Pitch Black powder. Bling, ribbon, and of course the vintage silver spoon were added. This was mounted on black cardstock then on Dotted Core-dinations paper.
Don't forget about our March Referral Challenge. Make something 'Spring Punk' and link back to us. You could win a fabulous prize.
I hope you have a very creative weekend stampers!

Get Your Motor Running

Happy Friday!I am sharing a pocket card with a few tags.

The card:
  and the tags by themselves:
I love pairing the Route 66 plate with the Diesel Punk images. I think they all blend together wonderfully.   The mini tags are fun to create.  One of the tags is a folded over tag to allow for an additional message inside the tag.  A great card for someone who likes to explore.

Have a wonderful Weekend!

SPRINGPUNK BIRD

Our March referral theme is SPRINGPUNK and the first thing I thought when I saw the theme was BIRDS,  so here we have my SPRINGPUNK bird!
I have added images from Charles & Amelia and Industrial Backgrounds plates. My first image has been added to a Tim Holtz pocket watch with text from a vintage book added in the background and coloured with Distress Ink broken china to give more of a Spring feel. An Art Parts key has been added to my clockwork bird which I have coloured with silver Paint Dabber. Cogs from the Industrial Backgrounds plate have been added to my birds legs and head along with a propeller.
And the reverse of my bird again decorated with vintage paper, image stamped in black Archival Ink and a little metal from my husbands tool box to add to the industrial feel.

Covered Bridge

Hello, Gerrie is with you today....bringing back one of my favorite sets, Old Grist Mill.  This set reminds me of the few covered bridges I have seen in my life, mostly in Southern Indiana.

I stamped this in Black Archival Ink on coated card stock, then using all Adirondack Light Inks, used an empty watercolor brush to add the colors.  Since I emptied the brush just prior to using it, there was enough water left in the bristles to quickly brush on color.

Spring Diesel Punk

Greetings! Today, I have a tag to share with you. I started out planning to make a Diesel Punk project but, as I worked on it, I realized that indeed it was quickly becoming a SpringPunk tag. Speaking of SpringPunk, there's a new challenge for the Artistic Outpost March Referral Challenge with SpringPunk as a theme. Why not get inky and create your own spin on Spring and SteamPunk for a chance at a great prize? For my tag, various stamps from the Diesel Punk and Industrial Chic plates by Artistic Outpost were used to emboss the background and to create the focal images. I just love how this gorgeous dame is included among many masculine images in the Diesel Punk plate. I believe it really increases our stamping options! Full details on creating this tag are available at my blog. Have a great day.

On the Road Again with Diesel Punk

Okay, so I see all my team mates are doing Spring Punk and I am so behind with my Diesel Punk.   Still I am so interested with this new genre and and wanted it give it it's due.

I love the way this card came out using all the fab elements from the Diesel Punk stamp set. I went with the checkered flag in the background paper and I created a bold crisp black/white look with the main stamp. I cut a main panel with the Vintage Cabinet Card die and embossed it with the TH Checkerboard texture fade and went around the outside with a very thin line of Versamark, using a Versamark pen. Then I heat embossed it with bright red EP. I stamped these two adventuresome men in Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on white CS and then cut them out and affixed them to the embossed panel. Then I created another panel to overlay it using more of the same methods.

For my gas station sign, the red panel is just red CS cut with a Spellbinders die and then coated with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. When dry, I went over it with Vintage Photo Distress Stain to accent the crackle. For the top white piece, I cut 3 thin pieces of chipboard and glued them together and then painted them with Picket Fence Distress Crackle paint. When dry, I stamped the image with Jet Black Archival Ink. The Diesel Punk sentiment was stamped on white CS cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Banners die.

I so hope you take some inspiration on using the fabulous Diesel Punk stamp set.

SpringPunk Chunky ATC

Happy Saturday everyone! I was really busy doing this project all week, and having too much fun doing it, for this month's Customer Referral Theme Challenge. I just love the theme of SpringPunk. Mixing butterflies and  flowers  with the edginess of SteamPunk was exciting and addicting. If you haven't started your project for this challenge yet, don't worry because you have all month. Besides having the opportunity to win an amazing prize package, I promise you will thoroughly enjoy this theme.
I decided to make a chunky ATC, as I have never done one before, because I had so many ideas swimming in my head for this project and I needed all the space I could get. I decided to use these two AO stamp plate sets for this because they had all the elements of Springtime that I wanted, Whimsical Melange and Serenity. All the background stamped images were done in various colors of Distress Ink and some heat embossed. The butterflies were heat embossed as well, and the larger one was made with two butterflies. I see more images and more details please visit my blog.
I hope you start stamping soon! Enjoy your weekend.

Spring Punk

The referral challenge  this month is Spring Punk. What to do when you want to show spring and some of the fun steam punk?  How about mixing up spring colors with some clocks and a very busy rabbit?

I used the stamps from Artistic Outpost Wonderland Collage, Industrial Chic, and Whimsical Melange.  The background was painted with acrylic paint and glimmer misted with purple and pink. Then a layer of gears were stamped in pink/gold and white embossing powder.

The bunny was stamped and colored and cut out.  I framed him with the Whimsical Melange house. The flowers were from a pair of earrings in the clearance section of the jewelry store.

The clocks (Whimsical Melange, Wonderland Collage)  are stamped and embossed using gold embossing powder.  They also have touch of script stamped in the background from the ledger stamp in the Ephemera Background plate.

Have a wonderful weekend!
