Patchwork Heart
So happy to be joining a very talented group of artists here at Artistic Outpost as a guest designer!
Today I'm sharing a patchwork Valentine I made using the "Be My Valentine" heart stamp from the Cutie Pie set. I also stamped the border of my patchwork with the lace border stamp from the Mini Masterpiece set and then gold embossed it.

Artistic Outpost Welcomes Guest Designer Louise Granlund
We are thrilled to welcome Louise Granlund as a Guest Designer here at Artistic Outpost!
A little about Louise...
I am a paper artist who loves creating in a vintage style. I love rubber stamping, scrapbooking, and altered art. I started this creative journey about ten years ago. Since then I've enjoyed blogging, sharing art and making friends all over the world. I've been thrilled to see my work published in the Stampington Magazines as well as CardMaker Magazine. Recently it's been gratifying to sell some of my work at area craft fairs.
I live in the Chicagoland area.where I have worked as a court reporter for the past 33 years. I am mom to a terrific 24-year-old son. (And am glad that he and my grandpup live in Chicago as well). For several years now I have made cards for my church's card ministry. When I'm not busy with all of that, I enjoy scouring thrift shops, antique stores, flea markets, etc. for vintage goodies to use in my art.

A Singing Bird
Today, I have a mini art piece created with the new Songbirds set.
I've cut out, colored, and layered the birds and violin for dimension.
The curled piece behind the book is stamped with the music from
The Songbirds images are all so beautiful!

How Much You Are Loved
The Tin Man from Oz Collage makes a wonderful Valentine.
I stamped him in Charcoal ink on Memory Box DP, and stamped a second time on a scrap of pink Tim Holtz DP to paper-piece his heart.
I used a sketch from Limelight Papercrafts and finished with a pink die cut Grungeboard Heart, Grey Ribbon, and pink adhesive pearls.

I created this little easel card using the sweet Cutie Pie plate. The image was water colored using watercolor pencils and a water brush. The background paper is from Basic Grey Nook & Pantry line.
Love the sweet images and they make such fun cards! That little puppy is adorable! Love that he is leading the parade!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Snowflake Kisses
Have you had your fill of winter or snow yet? How about a little more Frosty fun.
For my tag I used images from Snowy Woods and Sleigh ride. All embossed with clear EP
then I added distress inks in 3 tones. A few hearts add just a touch of romance.

Live in the Sunshine
I was working on a card using the Aged Tiles technique and wanted an image that worked with the technique. I think that this image from The Outpost is the perfect image for the technique or is it that the technique is perfect for the image. Whichever the case may be, I think this image is so beautiful. It is rather simple, yet it depicts a very meaningful scene. I kept the card fairly monochromatic. I wanted to keep the feeling of tranquility. The aged tiles background gives the card a vintage look. Doesn't the sentiment leave you with an upbeat feeling?

All Know the Way
I combined the Thai Buddha image with new papers from Basic Grey's Curio Collection.
The Buddha was stamped in Chestnut Roan chalk ink and shaded with pink colored pencils. I finished with Zva Creative pearl flourishes.

By the Sea
I was challenged to create something that reflects relaxation. There is nothing more relaxing to me than listening to the waves of the sea washing up on the shore. And the lighthouse, birds, and sentiment from Beyond the Sea are the perfect stamps to reflect the feeling of the sea. Can you smell the fresh sea air? My image is painted with Creative Inspirations paints. The background panel is embossed using an embossing folder. The texture reminds me of waves. I even painted over the background with CI fairy dust to give the look of the waves sparkling in the sun.
All this talk of ocean waves and sparkling sun makes me long for summer again.

Generations
Hi Lisa here today! Besides the wonderful images Artistic Outpost has to offer, I love that a lot of the sets can be combined together! Here I've used images from the Artistic Outpost Distant Generations and Generations Redux to create today's card, pairing it up with some wonderful Cosmo Cricket papers.
All images are stamped in Black Archival on watercolor paper. The focal image from Generations Redux is coloring using the Marker Watercoloring Technique.
Have you been creating with Artistic Outpost images this month? We'd love to have you enter them in our January Referral Program!

Cracker Jack
This card celebrates the San Francisco Giant's World Series win (when we can't watch baseball at our house, we remember baseball or dream of when baseball will start again).

The image from Artistic Outpost's Cracker Jack was stamped on Basic Grey Basics White paper in Blackbird ink, and then I stamped it a second time on red cardstock to paper piece the uniform. The background baseball paper has been in my stash more years than I can even remember, and the sentiment is from Artistic Outpost's Playtime.
I used this week's Unscripted Sketch and finished with some Major League Baseball stickers, (including San Francisco Giant's pitcher Tim Lincecum's jersey number).

Lady in Blue
.....created with Jane's Countryside.
I colored "Jane" with shades of blue and blue-green Copic markers.
That led me to create the whole card in shades of blue using colored paper and adding color with
Distress inks: Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Black Soot and Faded Jeans.
I added some gems to the frame for a touch of bling!

Cameo Appearance
Suzz Here.
When we first received our Jane's Countryside I was very excited to this pretty silhouette as part of the set.
I decided to create a cameo pin with the silhouette and use it as a lovely accent on a card. The pendant was created using black ink on a glimmer misted background of green and blue. The image was cut out to the shape of the pendant and glued to the pendant using glossy accents. The black frame is a die cut.
The damask image in the set makes a beautiful background and was stamped multiple times on white cardstock using Versafine black onyx.
The white background was embossed using an embossing folder after the sentiment was stamped.
Have a great weekend!

Thinking of You
A cyber-friend has patiently waited for me to finish this card. I wanted to use an image which I dearly love. This image from AO's Bluebird stamp set is just such an image. The swap was a technique related one. There are several specific techniques used here: marbled Smooch, texture duet, and sanded core'dinations (all from the Technique Junkie newsletters). In the inside of the card I used another stamp from this set, "Thinking of You."
One of the many things I love and appreciate about AO stamps is their classic beauty. This stamp set is not from a new release, yet I reach for it again and again when I want to create something eye-catching. Hopefully, my friend will love this piece as much as I do.

Summer Afternoon in Winter
To bring a little summer into my cold, snowy winter, I made a card using this summertime image and quote from Artistic Outpost's Keeper Set.
I stamped the image in Burnt Sienna and used colored pencils to bring in some of the hues from the Basic Grey Pyrus papers. I finished with some champagne pearl flourishes. The sketch is Unscripted Sketches #2.
For now the summer memories and images will have to keep me warm.

The Outpost at Sunset
With it being January, a girl can long for beautiful sunsets like this, don't you think! This lovely image is from The Outpost, I wish I could pull up an Adirondack chair and watch the sun set. The image is stamped in Black Archival on Matte card stock. To create the background, I used the Smackin' Acetate technique, sprtizing my marker scribbles with Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist.
We'd love to see what you've been creating with Artistic Outpost images, be sure to share them in the January Referral post!
