Born to Stand Out

Hello, Avril here today and this week I'm mixing and matching my stamp plates again.

I started off with a mop up piece of card, (I never just wipe up my inky mess, instead I always mop up the inks with a piece of scrap card which always comes in handy for some background or another). I stamped the Hats background in Black Archival ink and then distressed the edges with a pair of blunt scissors, before layering on black card stock.

I then stamped the gentlemen from  Generation Redux, again with Black Archival but this time onto white card.  Again I distressed the edges and added some shading with Antique linen ink and coloured his tie,  then again layered onto black card.

I stamped the Hats background stamp again onto white card and fussy cut out a hat that I thought would suit my gent, coloured the hat band to match his tie and adhered it with foam pads.

The sentiment is from the Think and Wonder plate,  stamped onto white card, trimmed to size, distressed and then given a very thin coat of Glossy Accents.  After it was dry I slight bent the sentiment, just enough to create stress lines for an aged look and adhered it covering the coffee sentiment on the image.

All the stamp sets used can be purchased from Our Daily Bread Designs website.

One of the things  I've always loved about Artistic Outpost rubber stamps is the way all of the stamp plates can be used with one another and I hope I've inspired you to get mixing and inking up and hopefully joining us in our Show us Your Art Anything Goes with an AO stamp, the details of the current challenge can be found here.
