Lacy Bottle Caps Background

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Julie here, with another card using the Bottle Caps Background stamp from the Artistic Outpost Spring Release along with a faux wood background.

This time I decided to create a more feminine card using lace and an actual bottle cap embellishment.

To create the main panel for this card, I stamped the Bottle Caps Background stamp with Stāz-On® Midnight Blue Ink onto white cardstock and sponged Tim Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Stain over the image to distress the paper.

I used a woodgrain embossing folder to emboss the image, applied Tim Holtz® Distress Vintage Medium with a foam brush, allowed that layer to dry and then applied Tim Holtz® Distress Collage Medium.

Once the panel was completely dry, I used a sewing machine with a zig zag stitch to adhere the panel to a piece of dark navy cardstock.

I created the bottle cap embellishment by stamping the Bottle Caps Background onto another piece of white cardstock using Stāz-On® Midnight Blue Ink, colored the image with dark navy markers and punched the image out with a 1” circle punch.

I flattened a real bottle cap through the Big Shot™, adhered the stamped bottle cap image in the center and filled the center with Crystal Effects™ (setting the embellishment aside to dry for a few hours).

After the bottle cap embellishment had dried, I added the 1 ¼”  dark navy grosgrain ribbon and the ivory crochet lace to the card front (wrapping the ends behind the panel), add the string of pearls and popped up the bottle cap embellishment with dimensional foam.

I mounted the entire panel onto a white card base and decided not to add a sentiment at this time.

I think this could be a fun note card to send for encouragment or a just "thinking of you" :-)

Don’t forget, we would love to see what you are creating with your Artistic Outpost stamps- click here for details on how to join in on our May Show Us Your AO Art Challenge.

Thanks again for stopping by- I hope you have a relaxing weekend!
