Harvest Altered Burlap Panel

Hi There & Happy Sunday!!  It's me Shari with you today and I just have to say, Thanks So Much, for hopping along this week in celebration of our New Releases.  I hope you've enjoyed the amazing creations my fellow Artistic Outpost Design Teammates have been sharing--I know I have!
Today, I'm sharing an altered burlap panel that I made, using images from our new Harvest stamp set and our new Seed Packets Background stamp.  I took a few photos along the way--let me show you...

I started by stamping this sentiment from our new Harvest set, onto tissue paper with Jet Black Archival.

I've got my 5" x 7" burlap panel ready to go.  I'm going to brush matte Decou-Page over all of the surfaces of the panel....

...while the matte Decou-Page was wet, I laid the stamped tissue paper onto the burlap panel and wrapped around the sides.  I set aside the panel to let air dry.

I stamped the new Seed Packets Background image onto a piece of cotton muslin with Potting Soil Archival and ran through my sewing machine to add the stitched border.

Working with the handsome young farmer image found in Harvest, and the sentiment I used on the tissue paper, I stamped those with Potting Soil Archival onto beige card stock, fussy cut and mounted onto dark brown card stock.  I adhered to the stamped muslin with matte Decou-Page.

When the burlap panel was dry, I brushed on a coat of DAM Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide and heat set.

I rubbed Ground Espresso Distress Paint onto the corners of the panel with my finger and heat set.  Before adhering the stamped muslin piece into place, I coated the burlap panel with DAM Ultra Matte Varnish.

I attached the fabric piece to the burlap panel with matte Decou-Page and embellished simply with some faux rusty brads in the corners to finish this altered panel off.

Thanks again for joining me here today--I hope you've enjoyed the first of many New Release projects that I'll be sharing here at the Artistic Outpost Blog!!
