Sound of the Sea

Hello Everyone and Happy Saturday!  Julie, here showcasing two Artistic Outpost stamp sets, Sound of the Sea and Beyond the Sea.

To create the mixed media layer for this card, I prepped a piece of white cardstock with gesso, added various colors of blue gelatos, spritzed the panel with water, added additional color with gelatos and brusho, heating with a heat tool between layers.

After the layers were dry, I decided to add clear crackle paste with a stencil, allowed the medium to dry, added additional color over the crackle texture, tore the background panel, "antiqued" the edges with dark ink and added additional distressing with my fingernail.

After heat embossing the Sound of the Sea image along with the seashell and starfish images from Beyond the Sea, I used markers to color the images and "antiqued" the panel with ink. 

I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Double Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the Sound of the Sea image, mounted it onto black cardstock and fussy-cut the seashells/starfish.

Using the Our Daily Bread Designs Boho Background Dies , I embossed a piece of taupe cardstock, distressed the edges and added “antiquing” with ink.

After layering the background, I cut the sentiment apart and added the Sound of the Sea image along with the other elements to the card with dimensional foam.

This card reminds me that summer is just around the corner- well, maybe a few more months away for those of us in the Northeast U.S., but least we can look forward to warmer weather soon!
