Only Style Remains

Hello, Hello!!  Happy Sunday!!  I've created a little card using our new Vintage Fashion stamp set to share with you today.  This is actually card #1 in a trio that I've made, so I'll be sharing the other two cards in future posts.

The images in this new set are certainly very vintage and very certainably fashionable and made me think pink and flourishy right away.

I'm going to start by making a master board to use as the background panel on all three cards.

I scraped the paints onto a piece of mixed-media paper with an old gift card and heat set.

I spread Crackled Texture Paste through the Flourishes layering stencil with my palette knife and let air dry.  When the crackle was dry, I brushed Wine & Roses Twinkling H2Os over the surface with a round water color brush then gave the brush a good couple of flicks over the surface to get those paint splatters.  I cut the panel down into the background panels that will be used for each card.

This grand dam of fashion was stamped onto coffee stained manila with Coffee Archival ink and fussy cut.  I adhered the feathers to her hat and added the decorative brad.

The quote was also stamped onto coffee stained manila with Coffee Archival and fussy cut into word bands.  I inked their edges with Walnut Stain DI and mounted onto an iridescent purple card stock.

I added a piece of vintage crocheted lace to the background panel and ran through my sewing machine to stitch the lace into place and add the stitched border.  I adhered the fussy cut pieces onto the panel and attached it to a card base of the iridescent purple stock.

I rubbed the edges with Walnut Stain DI to add a little bit more of an aged looked to the card and smudged a shadow of watered down Walnut Stain DI around the word bands and the lady in the feathered hat.

Thanks so much for having a visit with me here at Artistic Outpost today.  Have a great creative week and I'll see you next Sunday!!
