And All That Rot

Hi There!!  Thanks for coming by and spending a little bit of your Sunday with me!  I just got two more sets of AO stamps--Loverly London and London Underground and I had a play with them this week for today's card!

Both sets of stamps have such great images in them!  My biggest problem with creating this card, was narrowing down the choices of images to use, so I compromised a bit-The Union Jack image is from the London Underground set and the rest of the images are from Loverly London.  Let me show you a few of the step-x-steps.....

I'm using a piece of mixed-media paper as my background panel and I'm going to use the Distress Paint marbling technique to apply the paints.

I was able to coat three different surfaces with the paints....

...and here's the mixed-media paper panel that received the first run through of the paints.  I love the richness of the colors and all of the swirls!

The red, white and blue splotches of colors you see in the background are all from failed attempts at monoprint stenciling, but I like the addition of colors just the same.  I did 'regular' stenciling with the Harlequin layering stencil and Walnut Stain distress ink and I stamped the Parliament image onto tissue paper with Jet Black Archival.  I carefully fussy ripped it and adhered it onto the panel with matte Decou-Page.

I  colored the Union Jack image directly with Distress Markers, spritzed with water then stamped onto coffee stained vellum--This particular image is the second generation stamping, and I love the aged look of it.

The handsome gent & Big Ben were stamped onto a piece of coffee stained manila stock, but I heat embossed Big B.

I stamped 'London' onto a piece of cotton twill ribbon with Jet Black StazOn, the quote "A foggy day in London town" was stamped onto tissue paper with Jet Black Archival and I crackled up the word bands for the 'Pip Pip, Cheerio' quote and mounted onto black card stock.

Before adhering all of the fussy cut pieces into place, I ran the panel through my sewing machine to add the stitched border and accents.  I attached the finished panel to a red card base and added the little staples with my tiny attacher--I think the staples are a fun contrast with the stitching.

There you go--Pip Pip, Cheerio and All That Rot!  I surely Thank You again for joining me here at Artistic Outpost today and I will surely see you here again soon!!
