But I thought I'd share one of my all-time favourite AO makes for this post... a hanging created out of bits and bobs and odds and ends - leftovers that were hanging around on my craft table, and came together as though they were meant to be!
this post at Words and Pictures, but for now, here are some close-ups...
It's all layered up with some more scraps of Wallflower paper for lots of dimension, over a corrugated cardboard base.
The butterflies are cut from old book pages and inked with Distress Inks.
They're perching on some of the Frameworks innards. One final shot - to give you a sense of those butterflies about to take off...
Thanks so much for stopping by... and I'll be along soon with some more Artistic Outpost projects to share with you.

Gorgeous Alison! Love all the paint splatters.
I do love this one Alison. Think it's all the paint splatters that soften the layers of muted colours and yet still allow that fantastic image to shine through. Safe journey. Jenny x
It really is a beautiful piece Alison, I love Cocoa boy (really should ink mine up one day) and the paint splatters look amazing and the honeycomb die is a perfect addition. Anne xx
Lovely layered piece Alison with one of my all time favourite AO stamps!
Lovely piece Alison! Grungy vintage...like it so much with the mixed media combinations!
Kind regards, Alie :-)
Alison thus is one terrific tag! Great layers, textures and colors. All makings for a real beauty!
I Love This Alison!! You'd never know that you made this hanging with left-overs and odds and ends!! I love that when that happens!! I also love the affectionate name you gave this boy image...Cocoa Boy! Only the utmost respect for this AO image!! :) I'm always 'aflutter' when you use old book pages for your butterflies--there's just something special there! Fabulous hanging!! XOXO-Shari
Hi Alison, all the paint splashes look great and corrugated cardboard...my favourite base for mixed media. Love it.
Love it when grunge and vintage meet face-to-face. Amazing things happen! Great use of the honeycomb here, Alison!
just beautiful Alison - I was immediately drawn by your hexies (a quilting term dontcha know! lol) love the way you've weaved them in and out of your layers.
Alison, this is a fabulous tag! I love the layers and of course the image. Somehow the splats of white remind me of snow and having a cup of hot cocoa! Love this hanging!
I too love this creation! I think those butterflies about to take flight are my absolute favourite part of the whole thing, but the paint spatters are lovely too and of course the AO image is terrific and beautifully stamped. xxx
Gorgeous Alison, Like everyone else I love the paint splatters and the Vintage meets grunge feel. The crackled honeycomb does it for me really nice effect. Mo x
That's just a fabulous hanging, love these original layering and all the splats of white on it!!! Coco xx
