I had some fun playing with tissue paper, multi medium and distress stains with this piece. I had in mind dark windswept seas and knew I wanted to use the Beyond the Sea plate. I started by smearing a tag liberally with Multi Medium Matte and then smooshed some crumpled tissue paper into it. While it was wet, I dredged it through some puddles of distress stains including Weathered Wood, Gathered Twigs, Tea Dye and Picket Fence. Then I dried it some with my heat tool and added a bit more stains directly onto the tag here and there, dried it more and sponged the edges with Black Soot. The images were stamped onto acrylic from discarded packaging, trimmed out and glued down with multi medium. The sentiment is from the Quote and Quotables plate.
If you know my work, you will know this was a bit out of the box for me, but I had fun with it and really like the result. Thanks for stopping by today.
