The Captain

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Julie here, sharing another Mixed Media card designed with the Artistic Outpost  stamp set, The Captain, Steampunk Gears Dies, Vagabond Treasures Collection 6x6 Paper Pad along with the Grunge Elements stamp set and ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies (all available from Our Daily Bread Designs).

To create this card, I stamped the ship image from The Captain stamp set with archival black ink onto vanilla cardstock and used neutral distress inks to watercolor for an “antique” finish.  I also used a diluted white acrylic paint with the coffee stain image from Grunge Elements to add more distressing before die cutting the panel with the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies.

The sentiment was also stamped and “antiqued” before die cutting with a smaller frame from the ODBD Pierced Rectangles Dies.

The strip of Vagabond Treasures Collection Paper was sanded to give it a bit more of an aged appearance and I die cut and embossed the various gears from dark brown card stock using the Steampunk Gears Dies. 

Once I layered the panels onto dark brown cardstock, I added the gear die cuts with brads, a torn scrap piece of the Vagabond Treasures Collection paper to the lower left corner as well as the sentiment along with the fussy-cut The Captain image using dimensional foam to finish off the card.
