Happy Saturday and
New Year’s Eve Everyone! Julie here, sharing
another festive Mixed Media Christmas card designed with the brand new Artistic Outpost (AO)
stamp set, Gloria along with the ODBD Snow Crystal Dies and ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper (all available from Our Daily Bread Designs).
I like to create
Christmas cards all year long so they are ready to mail in late November and I absolutely
love the images in the AO Gloria stamp set!
I started with the background by inking the AO Gloria angel ATC
collage stamp with festive berries distress ink and stamping it repeatedly onto
a piece of red cardstock before trimming off a panel approx. 2” x 5 ¼” (for the
left hand vertical panel of the card front).
I mounted the stamped
panel along with a piece of snowflake patterned paper from the ODBD Snowflake Season Collection 6x6 Paper Pad (for the right hand
side of the card front) onto a piece of red cardstock.
I used a stencil
brush with vintage photo distress ink to apply a light layer of ink over
the background to “antique” the paper and used an embossing powder tool
to de-static the panels.
I inked the scroll
border stamp from the AO Gloria stamp
set with embossing ink, stamped along the edges to create a border and heat
embossed with gold embossing powder.
Once the embossing
powder had cooled, I added a strip of 3/8” red taffeta ribbon to cover the seam
and mounted the entire panel onto the white card base.
To create the focal
image panel, I inked the angel collage image from the AO Gloria stamp set
with festive berry distress ink, stamped onto white cardstock, applied vintage
photo distress ink with a stencil brush (again, to “antique” the paper),
trimmed and mounted the image onto a thin layer of red cardstock before
trimming and mounting onto gold foil cardstock.
I added the stamped
angel panel to the card front with dimensional foam along with the triple
ribbon bow.
I die cut and
embossed several snowflakes from gold foil cardstock using the ODBD Snow Crystal Dies, added these to the card front along with pearls in
the centers.
I stamped the
sentiment from the AO Gloria stamp
set with archival black ink onto white cardstock, apply vintage photo distress
ink to “antique” the paper, trimmed and mounted onto red, white and gold foil
cardstock before adding to the card front with dimensional foam.
I hope all of you
have a wonderful weekend celebrating the New Year! If you have time to
relax and create a project using your Artistic Outpost stamps, we would love it if you would share your
artwork with us on Artistic Outpost Facebook page!
Thanks for taking the
time to stop by today- Happy New Year!!
