Happy Saturday
Everyone! Julie here, sharing a mixed
media card designed with Artistic Outpost (AO)
stamp sets, Skating Emporium and Grunge Elements along with the ODBD SnowCrystals Dies (all available at Our Daily Bread Designs).
To create the
background, I layered walnut stain, brushed corduroy and antiqued bronze distress stains onto a piece of kraft cardstock and once they were dry, added "snow" with the large splatter stamp from AO Grunge Elements stamp set with picket fence distress stain.
After the panel dried completely, I repeatedly stamped the advertising images from the
AO Skating Emporium stamp set with black soot distress ink as well as the snowflakes
with walnut stain distress ink.
I distressed the
edges with a distressing tool, stitched the panel onto a piece of vanilla
cardstock and added the crochet lace with black satin ribbon and pearls before
mounting onto the black card front.
I added a layer of brushed
corduroy distress stain onto another piece of kraft cardstock, stamped the
focal scene image from the AO Skating Emporium stamp set onto the panel with black soot
distress ink and used the large splatter stamp again from the AO Grunge Elements stamp set with picket fence distress stain for the "snow effect".
I trimmed the scenic
panel, mounted onto black cardstock (that I had embossed the AO Skating Emporium stamp set sentiment with winter white embossing powder) before mounting onto
vanilla cardstock with dimensional foam.
I heat embossed the skating
couple and skates from the AO Skating Emporium stamp set with black embossing
powder onto kraft cardstock, fussy-cut the images and mounted onto black
cardstock before fussy-cutting again (this gives the images stability) and
added the images to the card front with dimensional foam.
I die cut the two
small snowflakes using the ODBD Snow Crystals Dies from vanilla cardstock, add
to the card front with pearls in the centers and applied shimmer with a clear
glitter pen to finish off the card.
I had fun designing this
mixed media card and I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Artistic Outpost stamps and create a project this
weekend!
If so, please share with us on
our Artistic Outpost Facebook page- we would be thrilled to see your
creations!
Thanks for taking the
time to visit us today- I hope all of you have a wonderful week!
