Bottle Caps Background- Faux Wood Panels

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Julie here, with a fun Mixed Media card using the new Bottle Caps Background stamp from the Artistic Outpost 2016 Spring Release at Our Daily Bread Designs.

I decided not to add a sentiment and cover up any of the fun bottle cap images since the technique used created a faux wood appearance.  I think this card would be a great notecard for any occasion and the recipient may even want to display it year round (especially in a family den or "man cave" :-)).

To create this card, I stamped the Bottle Caps Background using Stāz-On® Jet Black Ink onto white cardstock and colored each of the bottle caps with Distress Markers.

After coloring each of the individual bottle caps, I sponged a bit of Tea Dye Distress Ink over the entire panel, then applied a layer of TH Distress Vintage Medium and once dried, applied TH Distress Crazing Medium.

I cut the background panel into three separate pieces, mounted each piece onto black cardstock and adhered all onto the black card base (popping up the central panel with dimensional foam to finish off the card).

Don’t forget, we would love to see what you are creating with your Artistic Outpost stamps- click here for details on how to join in on our May Show Us Your AO Art Challenge.

Thanks again for stopping by- have fun stamping!

I love the look of this card! I will have to try this technique. You are right... your design can be used in more ways than a card!
