However, it seemed the perfect place to stamp the gorgeous robins from the Birds of a Feather plate, making them "birds in the wood".
There's some text stamping in the background...
... some leafy stencilled texture paste...
... as well as some clear-embossed inky stencilling for a dewy look.
The robins themselves are so beautifully detailed... (though it seems American robins are slightly different from British ones).
And helpfully, one looks in one direction and the other faces in the other - very good for composition possibilities!
And the nest may be my favourite stamp in the whole set. I had great fun getting it to go round corners.
I added some Idea-ology flowers, altered with paint, as well as some cogs.
The little sentiment is mounted over a 7 Gypsies scientific instrument of some sort (information as to its name/purpose very welcome).
And the twine seemed the right sort of rustic accompaniment to finish the whole thing off.I hope the Spring weather is being kind to you and your robins (US or UK style, or indeed any other nationality)... Have a great week, and I'll see you again soon!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous as always! Love the soft colours.
ReplyDeleteThink the device is something to do with opticians!! One of the bits they twiddle over the lenses to take measurements during eye tests.
This is just adorable Alison. The colours are just so wonderfully calming and I love the composition of the birds and the bit of string going "off the block" is fabulous xxx
ReplyDeleteIt may not be ATC sized but it is a great size to show off your wonderful stamping. I love that honeycomb stenciling in the background and your lovely embellishments. Anne x
