A little peace...

Hello all, thank you for dropping in.  I've a small journalling page for you today, a very gentle piece.  I used stamps from the wonderful Old Grist Mill plate with its serene nostalgic images.
The background is done with Pan Pastels, blending on several colours with a sponge.
Then I stamped the PostCard stamp from the Ephemera Backgrounds in Versamark ink, and swept some more Pan Pastels over the top.  They adhere to the ink, giving you a wonderfully sharp image in colours which completely tone in with the background (assuming you use similar colours to do it with, of course!).
The leaf stamp is done the same way.
The main image of the covered bridge is stamped in Potting Soil Archival ink.
And the sentiment, also from Old Grist Mill, is also in Potting Soil, stamped on some paper inked with Antique Linen to soften its bright whiteness.
I added some torn book pages which had been covered in beeswax for a translucent parchment look...
... and some trailing ivy, inked with Distress Inks and edged with Burnt Umber Pan Pastel.

I hope that gave you some breathing space in a busy week.  There's a new Referral Program open for March to come and share your Artistic Outpost projects, so you'd better get busy again now!

  10. Alison, this is lovely. I love the gentle colours and the vintage feel to this page. Wonderful use of stamps, old text, and pan pastels. I really like the effect of the beeswax on the book text...and that sentiment resonates with me. Thanks for the sweet reminder.
