Hello everyone. It's great to be back here for my Tuesday stint at Artistic Outpost. I've got another piece to share with you using the wonderful new release, Paperboy... but this one focuses on the girls.
You saw them in the background (well, strictly it was the middle-ground) in the diorama, but now they get to take centre stage. The canvas is ATC sized - 3.5 x 2.5 inches, and comes with the little easel (though it's in plain wood when you buy it - I've given it some attention).
I used the lovely collaged words stamp to create some background texture, stamping directly onto the canvas - edges too - and then used Distress Inks to add some colour - Broken China, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs mainly, I think.
Around the edges of the canvas, I used Rock Candy crackle paint to create an antique-y textured look.
I kept the central area of the canvas relatively clear of colour and texture to leave space for my focal image. The girls themselves, I stamped onto tissue paper in a mixture of Black and Coffee Archival inks, blended onto the stamp.
I stamped the little sentiment on a separate bit of card, inked to tone in with the canvas, and mounted it on padded tape for some extra dimension.
I hope this has maybe inspired you to come and play along in the March Referral Programme here at Artistic Outpost - all you need to do is include at least one AO stamp in your creation... look forward to seeing you there!

Alison, this is such a stunning canvas! Some of my favorite colors and the crackled edges give such a nice vintage feel! Love those gals! Hugs!

I love your design here Alison! The canvas is such a wonderful medium for this piece - love the subtle introduction of color and the way you used the cracle paint as an embellishment - very cool!
Hugs,
Linda
