Running out of time

I seem to have a real "time" thing going with my Artistic Outpost work at the moment.  I'm back with the wonderful Generation Redux set, and some more women who have let their lives drift by without having the adventures they should have had.  It seems that, for some reason, this particular sentiment from Think and Wonder fits perfectly - in my head at least - with these Generation Redux images.
I started with some fine corrugated card - the inside of an Amazon delivery envelope, I believe - and roughly painted on some Picket Fence crackle paint which I left to dry overnight for full crackliness.  Next day I edged and inked the card with Gathered Twigs DI and then, in pursuit of some more texture and decay, I added some rustiness with the Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder.

The image of the two sisters - again, that's what they are in my head - is stamped onto calico fabric in Coffee Archival, which gives it a really weathered, faded look.  And I frayed the edges right in close, so that the image itself started to fray in places.  With the rust and weathered paint, these are women who have been forgotten on the scrapheap of time.

The scrapheap is also littered with old newspaper in the form of leaves from the Old Grist Mill set stamped onto Tim Holtz tissue wrap and inked with Gathered Twigs.

I added a "rusted" Memory Box treble clef, and the locket and roses, along with some book text lace (Vintage Lace Decorative Strip Die) beneath the sentiment warning the rest of us to Seize the Day while we can.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget that with just one Artistic Outpost stamp to your name you can enter the February Referral challenge here, and win a whole new set of AO stamps to mix and match with.
