That perches in the soul, a great sentiment from the Quote & Quotables plate from Artistic Outpost. I thought this sentiment was perfect for my egg decoration which I created for the Artistic Outpost REFERRAL theme which this month is BIRDS.
I decided on an egg decoration as we are celebrating EASTER weekend in a couple of days and eggs and birds go together so well. My egg has been covered in music paper and sponged with wild honey Distress Ink, adding a little lace to the outside edge. My music paper came from an old hymn book, again music paper seemed the perfect touch for a bird theme, representing bird song.
I've used the Flower Market plate to decorate the interior of my egg, adding poppies to the inside along with a branch and two small eggs. My bird has been stamped with the small floral image from the plate and I have added a little dimension to a few of the flowers.
I've cut my floral from music paper using the mini tattered floral die, adding colour to the edges along with the dragonfly from the flower market plate.
The inside of the egg has been painted with picket fence Distress crackle paint, perfect I felt to have a few crackles in an egg, again I added a little colour with my finger, rubbing into the crackles. I've added some natural hessian mesh to the bottom to act as a nest for my bird.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Easter break.
