Colony of Bats

I love the versatility of the new Haunted Halloween stamps, especially the fun Colony of Bats (I just learned that's what a group of bats are called).

For this card I combined a digital sentiment from Paper Crafts Magazine Simple Sentiments with a digital paper background that I colorized a spooky purple.
After printing out the image, I stamped the bats multiple times with Memories India Ink. I finished with a few sprays of Old Lace Glimmer Mist for an overall spooky sparkle (and got the cool "happy accident" of the spray reacting with the printed digital paper for an aged, water-stained effect).

Steam Punk - Blocked Collage

Hello to Artistic Outpost readers...I have a book cover to share, that I made using the Artistic Outpost Steam Punk stamp plate...I love this set and it's versatility for masculine collage artwork.  I used techniques from Technique Junkies, Faux Metal using Tim Holtz Texture Fades, Pulled Glimmers with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and the AO stamped images were done using a Blocked Collage Technique masking off with  sticky notes and sponging Tim Holtz Distress inks. The ribbon at the bottom of my Book Cover is from the Bloom & Grow - Vintage Findings found in the Outpost Attic Findings.

Now is the Time

Hi, Lisa here today and I have an altered Tin to share with you.  At first glance, I bet you are wondering what images from Artistic Outpost I used on my project. To create the beautiful flowers, I used the Blended Batik technique using the Large Background stamp from the Fortune Teller Plate on all my Tattered Floral pieces.  I did the Blended Batik on Manilla Tags, as I've gotten the best results when using tags for this technique.    The stamped sentiment near the flourish gems is also from this same plate.

Another Haunted Halloween Treat holder

I just love treat holders, especially for Halloween!  This one just folds over, and there is a small cello bag inside to hold a few morsels of sugary goodness.

Beyond the Sea

This card uses the stamp set Beyond the Sea. I just love this set, both the images and the sentiments included. I think this is a fantastic image of a lighthouse. The background of the card is done using the Acrylic Emboss technique from the current Technique Junkies newsletter. I used Adirondack acrylic paints in lettuce, stream, and denim. The embossing folder is from Sizzix. I thought the embossing resembled waves. The image is colored using the Pulled Glimmers technique from the June/July 2010 TJ newsletter. The shells and starfish are stamped and cut out. Then they were glued to a double ribbon attached to the card.

Rainbow Fairy

I love the fun little fairy in the Neverland collection. I colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and then added a layer of glitter pen for all over sparkle.

I also love the vibrant rainbow of hand-dyed seam binding ribbon that's now available in the Outpost Attic Finds.

Haunted Halloween and Neverland

Neverland
Tinker Bell, Wendy and  Peter grace this stamp plate with a child like spirit that can take you back to Neverland. The image was masked and then sponged  on different colors.  The matted backgrounds are methods using different mediums from Technique Junkies: Faux Metal and Glimmer Lace. Check Artistic Outpost Attic Finds on the store site for some Beautiful Vintage Lace and Ribbons.

Haunted Halloween
Whats not to love about the Haunted Halloween stamp plate. A vintage witch, an old hauted house, bats galore and a spiffy looking skeleton..combine endless  possiblities to create your spooky Halloween Collages on Cards and Scrapbook pages.  The matted backgrounds for this card are techniqes from Technique Junkies Newsletter:  Pulled Glimmers and Faux Metal.

Spooky Halloween

Hi, Lisa here with a spooky Halloween card!  One of the things I love about Artistic Outpost images, is combining various images from other plates to create a scene.  Do you recognize some of these older Artistic Outpost images?

I placed one of the Tim Holtz Web Masks on my Tag, then used the Antiqued Glimmer Technique to add color.  Blotting and heat drying as I went along. The Skeleton, Bats and Raven are all from the newest Halloween plate, Haunted Halloween.  I added the Wrought Iron Fence from Vintage Halloween, and the Barbed Wire from the Home Plate.  I added a little Spiced Marmalade ink to the Basic Grey Eerie paper to help pull in some of the coloring from the tag.

Spooky Treats

Lisa here today, and I've designed a cute treat holder for your Treat-or-Treat goblins, using the new Haunted Halloween plate.  Dont' the test tubes work wonderfully with this new plate!  Images are stamped in Black Archival on Basic Grey papers, added a few ribbons and charm!  The images are black embossed on the cute test tube labels!

Batty Blackbird

The Memory Box Blackbird papers coordinate so well with the new Artistic Outpost Haunted Halloween stamps that these cards almost made themselves.

For the first one I added the upside-down hanging bat to the tree branch and stamped the flying group of bats several times along the right side of the page. I finished with the Happy Halloween sentiment from the set.

For the second one, I stamped the crow from the set on the tree branch to accompany the silhouette blackbird printed on the paper. I cut the sentiment in half (one of the best things about unmounted stamps), so I could fit it into the space on the page.

Spooky, but oh so cool.

New Releases!

I had so much fun playing with these new Releases! From the Haunted Halloween plate!
A folded top card box.

From the Neverland plate. A altered book.

Haunted Halloween

So many fun possibilities with the new Haunted Halloween stamps and fabulous seam binding ribbon.
I stamped my haunted house on yellow DP and then painted with Shimmerz Glitter paint for a spooky glow. I finished with lots of sponging with Distress Inks.

I used strong double sided tape along the bottom and scrunched and pleated the new seam binding ribbon across the bottom.

Bloom

This card lets the paper do most of the talking, however I love how the tiny Bloom sentiment from Artistic Outpost's Serenity plate adds just the perfect touch to this distressed design.
Papers are Memory Box; flower is made by layering multiple flower punches with an adhesive pearl center.

Bloom and Grow

This card was created as a result of two challenges -- a sketch challenge and a color challenge. I just love this set of stamps so I had a lot of fun putting the card together. The image on the card is not as crisp as it would have been if it had simply been stamped. Instead I used a technique called Copic Expressions from Technique Junkies which uses Copic markers and alcohol to create a watercolor look. The side panel is grungepaper which has been colored with Pan Pastels. To me, it looks and feels like suede. The eggplant layer was dry embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder.

You're A Keeper

The theme this week at the 52-Card Pick-up Challenge was solitude and the appreciation of alone time.

I thought this wonderful image from Keeper was a perfect way to illustrate that joy that can happen when you just hang out with yourself. For me the sentiment is directed to myself ... an affirmation that I'm a keeper.

Papers are Basic Grey Origins. The image was stamped in Chestnut Roan chalk ink and colored with pencils. I masked & stamped the grass portion of the image several times to fill my panel. The sketch is this week's Critter Sketch Challenge.

Generation Redux

I was playing around with the glimmer lace technique from Technique Junkies. I thought that this somber, yet charming young lady deserved to be placed on a shimmery lace background. The main image is from the stamp sheet Generation Redux. The sentiment is from the sheet Serenity.
Don't forget that when you create artwork with Artistic Outpost images and upload to an online gallery/album/or blog - you could win a $14.00 Gift Certificate to the Artistic Outpost Store . Check HERE for details.

Christmas in August

I just love the Snowy Woods stamp sheet. When I had to do a summer Christmas challenge card I immediately went to this sheet. I thought the door had a lot of possibility. To color the image I used Pan Pastels. The background was done using the brick wall texture fade embossing folder and then highlighted with white Pan Pastels. The holly leaves are outline stickers which were rubbed with black pastels to distress them and then filled in with distress Stickles.

Clowning Around

I paired the fun clown from Send in the Clowns with the vibrant Happy Day papers from SEI. I accented his nose with an Orchid glitter pen & replaced his tiny hat with a punched party hat.
The sketch is 2 Sketches 4 You and the sentiment is SRM Stickers.
