Enjoying Summer Days By The Sea

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Julie here, sharing another Mixed Media card using the Grunge Elements stamp set from the Artistic Outpost Spring 2016 Release along with the previously released Artistic Outpost stamp set, Beyond the Sea (both available on Our Daily Bread Designs website).

I stamped the lighthouse image from Beyond the Sea with archival black ink onto white cardstock, used distress inks to watercolor the image, added additional “sand” at the bottom by watercoloring with distress ink before stamping the large splatter image from the Grunge Elements stamp set and finishing off with accents from a clear glitter pen.

I stamped the girl image from Beyond the Sea with archival ink onto white cardstock, created a mask to cover the girl, stamped the lighthouse image over the masking and used the same coloring techniques as noted above.

I used the ODBD Double Stitched Circle Dies to die cut the girl image, and die cut the background lighthouse panel with the largest frame from the ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I mounted the rectangular die cut background panel onto a piece of light brown cardstock, trimmed and mounted onto the dark brown card front (I used a crazing medium on the dark brown card front before adding the background panel- this is hard to see in the photo) and mounted the entire background panel onto the white card base.

I created the fussy-cut seashells and starfish images from the Beyond the Sea stamp set using the same stamping and coloring techniques as above (adding accents with a clear glitter as well as a white paint pen),  added the burlap ribbon strips to the card front before aligning/mounting the die cut circle focal image and seashells with dimensional foam.

I stamped the sentiment from Beyond the Sea, add distressing with the Grunge Elements images, hand tore the edges and distressed by hand, mounted onto light brown cardstock, added the spiral clip before finishing off the card by mounting the sentiment with dimensional foam.

Again, I hope you have been inspired to pull out your Artistic Outpost stamps to create a project or card this weekend and if you do so, enter your AO artwork in our “Show Us Your AO Art- August Challenge”- please click here for details.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and I hope you have a fabulous week!
