Dream Big

HOWDY & WOW!! It's May 31st already?!! The last Sunday of May?! How did that happen so quickly?  Well, I have to say that I'm happy to end the month here at Artistic Outpost!  I can't think of a better place to be, to creatively escort the last few weeks of Spring out the door.

Today, I've got the second card that I shared at the New Release Blog Hop we had on May 20th.  I'm showcasing just a few of the images found in the Wander & Dream stamp set in this card!

There are 10 images in this stamp set and for today's card, I only used 5 of them! That's a lot of bang for your crafting buck!! YEE HAW!! I love that!!

Here are some of my behind the scenes, pre-prepped pieces I made to assemble this card with.  I'm using another pre-rusted piece of Beautiful Borders die, that just seems very Westerny to me.

I did a little additional stamping using the map image from the Route 66 set and I added clear texture embossing with a star stencil on my background panel (that I didn't take a picture of...sorry).

The clear embossed stars are back there--you just can't see them in this picture, but they do lend a very nice texture and shine to the card!  I adhered all of the fussy cut pieces into place and did some stitching with my sewing machine.

I stamped this little lady onto mixed media paper with Jet Black Archival, sealed with matte multi-medium, then gave a layer of Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.  Her frame is made out of manila stock, die cut from Framelits Labels dies, and aged with Tea Dye, Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

Once I attached my finished panel to a dark purple card base, I took a look at it and didn't think it was quite finished enough, so I did my triple layer outline of smudged Walnut Stain Distress Marker, white gel pen and Pumice Stone Distress Marker.  There, now it's finished!

It's time to mosey along now--But, I won't wander too far.  With tomorrow being not only June 1st, but it's the very first Monday of the month, which means I'll be back with my AO Teammates for our June Product Focus.  See you tomorrow!!

Oh, but don't forget--Today is the last day to enter our Show Us Your AO Art for May!  You've got until 11:55pm CDT tonight, so come on over with your end of the month creations that you've made with your Artistic Outpost stamps!!

This is one of the best posts on Artistic Outpost in a long time. I was just smitten with the whole layout, colors and images. Just super!
