Simple Hats

Hi There--It's me, Shari!  Welcome back to my Sunday post here at Artistic Outpost!!  I've got a quick and simple card to share with you today that I made using, mostly, one image from the new Hat's Off stamp set.

OK-So, I'm using a total of three images!  I'm also using the Hats Background stamp, that I shadow-stamped (aka 2nd gen stamping) onto my roughly stitched piece of kraft stock with Jet Black Archival Ink.  I flicked some Spiced Pumpkin Twinkling H20s onto the panel with a small round paint brush, heat dried and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I picked a few different colors of kraft-core stock, gently sanded the surface and stamped the hat onto each piece, with Jet Black Archival Ink.  I then used my 1.5" square punch and punched each hat out, distressed the edges with my paper distresser then inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I mounted all of the squares onto another scrap piece of kraft stock then stitched it onto my background panel.  With that panel stitched into place, I adhered the background panel onto my card base with lots of double-back tape.

I stamped the quote from the Hat's Off set onto two pieces of kraft-core that I had placed together (adhered together with double-back tape on the back, then pressed onto a scrap piece of kraft), roughly stitched around, then fussy cut.  I distressed the edges with my paper distresser and inked with Walnut Stain DI and adhered to the card with double-back tape.

I stamped the hat a few more times onto kraft core, fussy cut and adhered to the inside of the card with little pieces of double-back tape.

This card took me about 15 minutes to make, especially since I didn't add any extra embellishments and kept my images to a minimum.  As a matter of fact, with all of the images available within the Hat's Off set, there are many 15 minute card options just waiting to be created!!

Happy Weekend to you all and hanks for joining me today!
