The Funny Farm

Hope you all are doing fabulously on this Friday. Today I would like to share with you a mixed media canvas using various stamps from "Hayride" and "Home" collections, so let's get started.
My hanging canvas began with a piece of corrugated cardboard which was painted with a mix of buttermilk, red and brown and then highlighted with red. Next I decided to use some designer paper from ODBD Blooming Garden for the background, which I lightly inked and flicked on some water.
The farm was stamped in Coffee Archival and heat set, distressed with ink and water, a little color added to the roof and then I torn and shaded around the edges. I used a honeycomb stencil to add some texture and shaded that as well. Later decided to carry it over onto the corrugated cardboard panel. Cut apart the "funny farm" sentiment to place around the barn scene.
Those adorable kids were stamped and fussy cut and placed near the beehive. Don't they look like little beekeepers?  Finished it off with stained cheesecloth and a few embellishments.
Thank you for visiting today and there is still time to entry September's "Show us your AO Art" challenge for a chance to win a prize, so come on and join in with those fabulous AO stamps!
