Paperboy Canvas

Another Wednesday and I am so excited to share with you a mixed media mini canvas that I created using the adorable Paperboy stamps.  The canvas background was created using a brand new technique that I tried and just fell in love with it and I knew it would be the perfect setting for this young man and ladies!
My canvas (3"X3") were primed and I coated with white gesso.  I then began to glue down various items using Multi Medium Matt, paper and metal gears, chain, lace, paper flower, bling, rice seed beads, paper die cuts, recycle produce bag.  Since I knew that I would be adding stamped images, I left those areas mostly flat.

Once you have all your texture down and dry, you then paint this with white gesso, let it dry, then spray with inks.  Let this dry and then highlight with the white gesso using a paint brush.  If you would like to watch the video click HERE for all the details.  After the canvases dried, I sprayed these with Krylon Matt Sealer.

All my images were stamped using Archival Sepia and shaded with Distress Inks, which I normally use two or three shades.
The sentiment was embossed with clear EP, inked over and splattered with water.  Used Tim's tissue tape for the inside and outer edges.  The pen nib is a combination of paint and Archival ink and then embossed with clear EP.  Everyone has there own way of creating a rusty effect, but I like how the heat causes the paint to blister and it nicely runs together.

Hope I was able to inspire you to try something new and truly thank you for stopping by today. There is plenty of time to pull out those wonderful AO stamps and join in April's Referral Program, so hope to see you there!  Have a fabulous week!
