Dia de la Muertes

I've been using the fabulous GOTHIC 31 plate from Artistic Outpost to create my Halloween tag.
I decided to create a coffin shaped tag to showcase the wonderful image from the Gothic 31 plate. I used one of the huge tags and trimmed the sides to create my coffin shape.
The tag has been coloured with several layers of rusty hinge Distress Stain, perfect colour for a Halloween piece, I love the richness of this colour, perfect for Autumn too, adding black soot ink to the edges for definition. I stamped the vine using black archival ink, I love this vine really adds to that eerie feel. I cut a tombstone from white card using a Spellbinders die, colouring with rusty hinge Distress Stain, adding black soot to the embossed areas and stamping the focal image to the centre. I layered the tombstone onto a piece of black card to lift from the background.
I repeated the die cutting and stamping onto shrink plastic to create a mini embellishment to echo the focal image on my tag, adding gold Paint Dabber to the edges.  I also added a small gem for added interest and dimension along with two heart gems to the top and bottom of my tag.
The focal image also has a large heart gem added to echo the shrink plastic piece.  To complete I have added coordinated ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
