On the Road Again with Diesel Punk

Okay, so I see all my team mates are doing Spring Punk and I am so behind with my Diesel Punk.   Still I am so interested with this new genre and and wanted it give it it's due.

I love the way this card came out using all the fab elements from the Diesel Punk stamp set. I went with the checkered flag in the background paper and I created a bold crisp black/white look with the main stamp. I cut a main panel with the Vintage Cabinet Card die and embossed it with the TH Checkerboard texture fade and went around the outside with a very thin line of Versamark, using a Versamark pen. Then I heat embossed it with bright red EP. I stamped these two adventuresome men in Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on white CS and then cut them out and affixed them to the embossed panel. Then I created another panel to overlay it using more of the same methods.

For my gas station sign, the red panel is just red CS cut with a Spellbinders die and then coated with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. When dry, I went over it with Vintage Photo Distress Stain to accent the crackle. For the top white piece, I cut 3 thin pieces of chipboard and glued them together and then painted them with Picket Fence Distress Crackle paint. When dry, I stamped the image with Jet Black Archival Ink. The Diesel Punk sentiment was stamped on white CS cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Banners die.

I so hope you take some inspiration on using the fabulous Diesel Punk stamp set.

What a great card, love all of the detail. This appeals to me much more than steam punk :)

Love the way the black and white checkered background (fabulous for the racecar and drivers!) ties in with the checkered embossing you did on the backing piece for the main figures. Great card!
