What a fun tag to put together!

"Flapper Fashions" and "Windows and Doors"

work so well together!

I stamped and cut out the "window" and

popped it up with foam tape.  The tag and

gazebo are colored with Distress Stains.

Miss Fashion Icon looks so good next to it!

I added a stick pin with 1922 and a ribbon flower.

I created the ribbon flower by wrapping colore

seam binding around a glue dot.

If you never did you should

Love the bridge stamp from the Windows and Doors Plate. It is so versatile and it works with several of the other sets beautifully! Look how dapper the gentlemen from SteamPunk looks lounging on the bridge. The bridge also can be stamped multiple times to create a longer bridge background. 

Sets used include: SteamPunk, Windows and Doors, Ephemeral Plate and Think and Wonder.

Today I have another sample from one of the newest plates Flapper Fashions.

I teamed it up with a vintage photo frame, some lace, brown velvet ribbon

 and A flower with a touch of bling.

Something for the Men

The Huck Finn stamp collection is a perfect set when looking to create cards for men or boys. I went with a CAS design for this card. I thought that the sentiment said so much. I stamped the sentiment and then die cut it using the Spellbinders label ten die. I cut another layer with the the next size die in blue. Both layers were lined using a gold pen. The background layer was embossed in a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

A Private Door

This wonderful Door & sentiment from the new Windows & Doors set were stamped on Memory Box DP with sponged Distress inks around the edges to frame the design.

Adventures of Hucklberry Finn

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Tom Sawyer's Comrade) was published in 1884 in England and 1885 in the U.S. The story takes place in the Mississippi Valley "forty to fifty years ago," or about the time of Twain's own boyhood in Hannibal, Missouri, a town much like Huck’s hometown, St. Petersburg, Missouri. Unlike his imaginative friend Tom Sawyer, who reads chivalric adventure stories and loves to play games of make believe, Huck is a realist.

Huck Finn Card

I just adore this image from the Huck Finn plate.  I know I'll be using this a lot.   Although my son is not a little boy anymore, I still like to think of when he was and all the adventures he had.   So he'll be getting this card -- and lots more with these Huck Finn images:)

Great Gatsby

Another great guy card!

This car and gentelman from Gatsby are such great images for guy cards!

I used just one ink color, Espresso, for all my stamping. 

To give the words a little more intensity , I clear heat embossed them.

I used a cork mat around the gentleman, so easy to die cut! For fun, I added

a check bow tie!   The papers are all from Graphic 45, A Proper Gentleman.

Daisy

Daisy has such a lovely face in the Gatsby Plate. She inspired me to create several projects with her image. First was a card where my DD dressed her up with some vintage flair.

I finished off the image and paired her with the flourishes on the frame and sentiment from Flappers Fashions.


Then I used a second image I had stamped to create an ATC.

This Little House

Lynn here with a little hanging I made on a piece of Masonite using my favorite stamps.

The new Windows and Door images.

I cut a hole along the top and used the birds from Songbirds,

Added a piece of trim for framing for the roof line.

Theres just no end to what you can do with these stamps!



Secret Gate

It's wonderful how you can combine stamps from the different stamp sheets to create artwork. I started with an image from Windows and Doors and stamped it on white cardstock with grey/silver ink. I then masked around the window areas. In one I stamped Jane from Jane's Countryside. In the other I stamped the gentleman from the Steampunk sheet. I thought they made a lovely couple in a lovely setting. I used Copics to color the couple. I cut out the image and layered on a blue-green panel. I stamped the sentiment and layered it on a similar panel. The two panels were adhered to my background designer papers. Brads were placed along the edge. The elements were adhered to a white base card.

Adventures in Reading

When I was young, I lived at the library. Each book I read took me on my next adventure, including a wild ride down the Mississippi River with Huck Finn, so I thought it would be fun to combine the new Huck Finn images with a library card & pocket.

The 1920's Famous Flappers

 

Flapper Fashions stamps by Artistic Outpost are the perfect images for this era.  The roaring twenties embraced all things and styles modern. A fashionable flapper had short sleek hair, a shorter than average shapeless shift dress, a chest as flat as a board, wore make up and applied it in public, smoked with a long cigarette holder, exposed her limbs and epitomised the spirit of a reckless rebel who danced the nights away in the Jazz Age.

For this Card I used Alcohol inks, Gesso and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Sprays.

Round the Corner

I combined images from Gatsby and Windows & Doors

for this masculine card!  The car is from Gatsby,

the verse and street light scene from Windows & Doors.

I chose a simple color combination of black, white and gray

with mats of red.  An easy card to create with simple stamping

and no coloring!  Just a little bit of time to cut out the car.  

I hope I've inspired you to combine some of these great images

from Gatsby and Windows & Doors!

Private Doors

What a lovely sentiment from the Windows and Doors plate and it coordinates wonderfully with the beautiful doorway.  The doorway was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with watercolor markers and an aqua brush. The background pattern paper is stamped with the beautiful flourish from the Serenity plate.

Easter Egg Hunt- I'm Late- Chunky ATC's

I have many memories of Easter morning searching the yard for hidden eggs

the Easter Bunny had put out for us. Filling our baskets with colorful eggs.

Later to become Egg salad sandwiches.

When I first saw this door stamp from the newest plate

Windows and Doors. I knew it would make a perfect backdrop for my chunky atc.

A little nest of eggs and some grass fiber trim finish off the Easter Egg Hunt.

The Lost Generation

Today my card features  Jay and Daisy from the Gatsby stamp sheet. Each was stamped on a tag. The backgrounds of the tags were colored using the new distress stains from Tim Holtz. The card background was done with design paper cut at an angle and overlaid on the card. The card was stamped with the champagne bottles using Versamark ink as watermarks. I love the stamps from this set. You can truly imagine the setting in which The Great Gatsby took place.

The rabbit from Wonderland Collage was stamped in navy on a piece of yellow Basic Grey DP. I added some colored pencil shading and of course a cotton-tail. I used a decorative brad for the hands on my clock and finished with a wrap of some opalescent thread for a bit of shimmer.

In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had."

Be inspired to merge and mingle images from the Gatsby Collection with Flapper Fashions. This era lends applause to be versatile with many  of  the Artistic Outpost stamp plates.

My background was created using a technique from Shelley Hickox using Gesso and Alcohol inks..Embellishments are from Tim Holtz Alterations line.

Huck Finn Pocket

I've had this jean pocket (confiscated from my son's old blue jeans) for ages, knowing someday I'd find the perfect thing for it.  The Huck Finn set was just right.  I stamped onto sticky backed canvas and then colored with Copic markers.  I also stamped the word Dream from that set onto a metal tag to add to the top.

I love when a saved item comes in contact with the right project!

The Explorers Club

When we were young, my brother and sisters spent a lot of time outside coming up with games and adventures. No hand held electronic devices for us. :)  When I saw the wonderful Huck Finn plate it reminded me of those times and inspired me to think of creating a journal for an explorers club. 

The base of the journal is a composition notebook.  Cut a brown paper bag(from the grocery store) to cover the front and back.  I had an old map which I had purchased at the libraries book resale store for a quarter. (Great place to find materials) Cut map to size and tear middle section to show the paper bag on the cover.

Stamp several of the fun images from Huck Finn onto watercolor paper using pigment ink. Color images using watercolor markers and an aqua brush. Cut them out. Sponge edges of map and paper bag with brown die ink.

The rest was a combination of layering stamps and images. All the images and stamps are from Huck Finn and Ephemeral Backgrounds.

Explorer

With spring almost here I was reminded of a time when my son would

venture out into the yard to Explore all nature had to offer, collecting bugs in his bug house, gathering feathers and twigs, all those things little boys do.That was my inspiration for this Explore card.

Using the images from the newest plates from

Artistic Outpost Huck Finn.

I stamped the main image on a scrap of muslin, added some twine and feathers and

mounted all to a torn book page. Not to worry it wasn't a Huck Finn book!

Fun Fold Flapper Card

I had such fun with the new Flapper Fashions stamps. These ladies are so elegant. They deserve an elegant background and design, don't you think. I started by using the tall accordian fold technique from Technique Junkies. I pulled out a piece of double sided paper that I had been hoarding in my paper stash. The floral turquoise and green is one side; the gold metallic is the other. For the front I added several images, a sentiment label, and a rosette. For the inside I used the Flapper description stamp, two of the gorgeous flappers and several of the decorative stamps. These stamps sure are the "bees knees".

When I saw the handsome man in the fabulous Gatsby plate I immediately thought of making either a card for the groom from his bride or a set of cards for the men in the bridal party that could be given with the gifts from the happy couple.

 

I paired the wonderful images with some wonderful gray and and white striped pattern paper. The sentiment is from the  Song Birds plate and the lovely flourish is from the Flapper Fashions plate.  Very clean and elegant with a touch of lace, stick pin and Prima flower.
