Happy New Year's Eve

Happy New Year to you and yours!  Suzz here.

I hope your New Year is filled with inky goodness. Or as others have said.. Eat, Ink and Be Merry!

I had a fun little book I created using the beautiful Jane images that I wanted to share today.

This project was very easy as the book was a paper-mache book at the craft store. I stamped up the image using Versafine Pigment ink on white cardstock. Colored the image using watercolor pencils and an aqua brush. Distressed the edges with green and brown dye ink. Covered the rest of the book using some pattern paper and added a few fun accents.

I gave this to my daughter to use as a book journal to capture different notes about books she wants to read.

Have a fabulous New Year's Eve!

Snow Day!!!

Who didn't Love playing in the snow when they were kids.
Sledding or building a snowman was the best, and snow days!!! No school!
For my snowy little 3-D card I used the Sleigh Ride images.

Snow Globe

This was a fun and easy project. It is a snowglobe designed to hold art work.  Photographing an image through water and a curved snowglobe isn't the easiest thing to do, but I hope you get the idea. It's really pretty in real life. I used an image from The Outpost. I had to mask the saying, but the image was perfect for the arch shape back of the globe. I used Creative Inspirations paints to color the image.

Nothing Like Staying at Home

This card features more images from the Jane's Countryside set.

The Edwardian lady and her house were stamped on a vintage book page in Artprint Brown ink and colored with blue, green and rich brick red Prismacolor pencils. I blended the colors with a soft art eraser so the text would still show through the coloring. The lady was stamped a second time to paper piece the face, so it wouldn't have text on it.

I added some Distress inks around the edges for an additional vintage touch to my already aged book page. The sentiment from the set was stamped on the aged book page margin.

A Sparkly Tinkerbell Ornament

Happy Christmas Eve! Suzz here.

I love the very pretty Tinkerbell image from the Neverland plate. When I wanted to add a focal point to my sparkly ornament I searched through my Artistic Outpost stamps and spied Tinkerbell and knew she would be the perfect center piece to my ornament.

She is stamped in black Ranger Archival ink and colored using watercolor pencils and the water brush.

The rest was a simple placement of the image onto the ornament and accent with some glitter and ribbon.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Ave Maria Ornament

Happy Holidays everyone- Lynn here with another idea for your holiday decor.  I put together another ornament. This time using the stamps from Ave Maria. The base in a vintage Christmas tin light reflector. I added some Silver Glass glitter and embossed the image on shimmery card stock. You still have some time to get in on the fun. You might even win a gift cerificate for $14.00.

I hope your all ready for Christmas.

Christmas in Jane's Countryside

Thanks to the influence of Lisa Somerville, I've really gotten into making ornaments this year. Lisa had shown me an ornament she decorated with these ornament blanks. I made another set a while ago with other stamps. Then I found some more of the blanks at Michaels at half price. Who could resist? The ornaments feel like porcelain and have a romantic, old fashioned look to them. I just had to stamp images from Jane's Countryside on them. At first I was going to stamp in black and use paints to color them. Then I decided to try using the blue Staz-On. I liked the results so much, I didn't want to use any more color. They reminded me so much of Delft china. To complete the look I edged the ornaments with antique gold Creative Inspirations paint. These ornaments are going up on my tree tonight.

Vibrant Cameo

This card combines two of my favorite images from the Jane's Countryside set ... the wonderful cameo, and the lacy brocade ATC sized background. I lined the background up and stamped it twice on a vintage book page for my dramatic background.

This card will be perfect for a post-holiday Thank You note.

May Your Christmas Be Merry

A quick and easy tag using one of the sentiments from Snowy Woods finishes off my Chocolate filled tins. Inside the tins I made some Chocolate Peanut Brittle and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.

Santa Gift Tag

To wrap a small gift, I made an origami box from designer paper (a wonderful use for those thinner sheets of designer paper you pick up on sale after the holidays).
The vintage Santa & sentiment from Snowy Woods make a perfect gift box tag.

A Gift Box

I have a stamped gift box to share today!
It's not stamped with Christmas images but it certainly could be used
for a Christmas gift.  Or, use this idea and stamp it with Christmas images!
I started with a 4" x 4" white box from Oriental Trading.
I stamped it with green ink for a toile look.  I made a little
tag to coordinate.  The stamp is from Jane's Countryside.

Using just one ink color makes this a quick project to complete!

A Christmas Star

Hi, Suzz here.

Here is another idea for home decor this Christmas is to re-purpose a fall decoration. I pulled this from the clearance bin at a local home decor store. I pulled off the fall decorations and re-purposed it for Christmas.
Here is the end result:
Here is a close up of the center.

The images are all from the Artistic Outpost Sleigh Ride stamp plate.

Hope you are gearing up for some time off over the holidays. Thanks for stopping by..

Vintage Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching. I had to use this image from Snowy Woods before the season had gone by. I think that this is such an awesome image. I stamped Santa in sepia in keeping with the vintage look. I die cut him and edged the cut with gold. The background paper is from Club Scrap. There's a funny story about the punched holly leaves. Tim Holtz used the holly leaf punch from Martha Stewarts collection. I didn't have it, nor did I have any plan to buy it...that is until I found it on sale during my last trip to Michaels. I decided to buy it since I knew I would use it for one of my tags. I haven't made the tag yet, but I sure think that they make the perfect border for my favorite St. Nick.

C'est Magnifique

This card was inspired by these Vintage Paris glass coasters from TzaddiShop for this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge.

I loved being able to combine so many stamps from different Artistic Outpost sets into a single design. Stamping this design in different colors would make a wonderful holiday gift set (flat and mailable for standard postage).
I started with the Eiffel Tower stamp from Paris Exposition stamped in Maroon Chalk ink on pink snowflake paper from Webster's Pages. Next I added the balloon from the same set. The small trees on the left are from the Home plate and the reedy grass on the right is from the Keeper set.

I finished by stamping the small floral image from Birds of a Feather to tie all of the different images together. Both sentiments are from Paris Exposition.

Framed Art - Snowy Woods

Hi, Lisa here today and I have a quick and easy framed art piece to share with you featuring one of the Santa images from Snowy Woods.  I've also altered a plaster mitten ornament using one of the snowflakes from this same set.

First up, the altered frame, a gift I made for a friend....

I've had these frames in my alterables stash for quite some time, I had bought them a few years ago in the Target Dollar Spot.  Click here to see this frame altered using images from Sleigh Ride.

On a recent trip to Joann's I found some wonderful Plaster Ornaments on sale for 50 cents, and thought they'd be fun to alter.  Here I painted the top and side with Rangers Red Pepper Dabber, once dry, I painted the mitten with Gesso (let dry) then applied Rangers Picket Fence Crackle Paint.  Once the Crackle Paint was dry, I stamped the Snowflakes from Snowy Woods in Barn Red Distress Ink.

We'd love to see your holiday ideas using Artistic Outpost images, be sure to read the details about the December Referral Program.  Play along for a chance to win a $14 Artistic Outpost Gift Certificate.

Have a great weekend!

Vintage Ornament

Who says you need Christmas stamps to make a Christmas ornament. For my ornament I used the newest stamps from Jane's Countryside, some crept paper, a rosette die and some German glass glitter.

Monochromatic Magenta

I started this card with the background tapestry stamp, stamping and embossing it on the magenta paper. I liked the combination so I found this magenta designer paper which looked like old Victorian wallpaper. I stamped our elegant, seated woman and colored her with Copics. She is cut out and attached with pop dots.  All of the stamps are from the newest stamp sheet, Jane's Countryside. The coordinating ribbon pulls everything together against the magenta base card. I thought that she looked like she was sitting in a Victorian mansion; thus the sentiment "There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort." The stamps from Jane's Countryside are so beautiful and so versatile and such fun to work with.

Another lovely Santa tag by Shelly Hickox

I just couldn't resist sharing this tag from Shelly Hickox with you all. She has used our signature Snowy Woods Santa to interpret one of Tim Holtz's Christmas tags.

On her blog, you will learn how she used items "around her house" to create the effect as she didn't have the exact required supplies.

Thanks for sharing this with me, Shelly.

Now - to maybe make my own tags this weekend???

The Most Perfect Refreshment

One of my favorite thing about the new Jane's Countryside set is how well the sentiments combine with other Artistic Outpost images.
I love this sit in the shade quote with the large shade tree from The Outpost plate.

Vintage Santa Ornament

I put together this simple ornament with a
wonderful vintage Santa from Snowy Woods.
He's colored with Copic markers and antiqued a bit
with Distress inks.  The frame easily opens to add the image
and closes with a tab, no soldering!
I added a ribbon hanger and a tiny bow.  The jingle bell
is held in place with a tiny safety pin, hidden by the bow.

I used another Santa from Snowy Woods
for the back side.  I added another jingle bell
fastened with cord.

SteamPunk Christmas Tag

My friend, Cyndi Watkins, created this adorable Christmas tag using the SteamPunk stamp collection. I love the creativity, and I still am just in awe about how "Christmasy" it looks.  Thanks for sharing, Cyndi

What creative festive ideas can you create with a non-Christmas stamp set??

Jane Trinket Box

Happy Friday! Suzz here.

I wanted to share a sweet little paper mache box with Jane.

This beautiful lady from Jane's Countryside was the perfect image to use in the corner of this lovely box. I love the doily accent with the sentiment from Paris Exposition. The box was painted with Adirondack Snow Cap white paint and sponged over with Ranger Distress Ink Broken China.   The image was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx and colored with watercolor pencils.

Have a great weekend!

Cameo Pendant

The cameo image from the Jane's Countryside stamp sheet is pretty enough to wear, at least that's what I decided when I created this pendant. I used a memory capsule and frame from Ranger Industries. The beautiful background paper is from my stash. I thought the metallic look went so well with the cameo. The cameo is stamped and embossed and cut into an oval shape to fit the capsule. I used small gold beads in the capsule with the cameo. All of the elements fit into the frame and a pretty black ribbon is attached to hang the pendant around my neck. I think it's a pretty elegant pendant.
