Hero and She-roes Frame

I used both military sets from Artistic Outpost for this frame. I started out with a canvas-like frame from Michael's. It's white and has a sort of plastic linen look to it. I covered it completely with a craft/pigment pad first, and let that dry. Then add images randomly with darker shades of craft/pigment pads.

This picture is of my friend Sam, as he was swearing into the Navy to work on Nuclear Submarines (I think)...please correct me if I'm wrong Sam! Sam is the third gentleman in.

As the Flag goes by

It was easy to see this image as a small hand held flag. I used one of the new She-roes images, a paintbrush for the pole and vintage buttons with verdigris on the edge. Susan Conrad, guest designer 2009

We Salute She-roes

Image is was inked with distress inks, and stamped on Vanilla card stock. Inked again in Black Archival, cut woman out, color and adhere over base image.

Don't you just love the new She-roes set! I had so much fun working with it, and making things to pay tribute to my friends in the military. This is a picture of my friend Yogi, who served in the Air Force.

A little about She-roes...
Women have always carried half the sky. During WWII, women began carrying their half in the armed forces as well. Whether they were nursing the sick or flying in the Women's Air Corp, this collection celebrates our "she-roes".

Both collections are available in unmounted sheets or pre-cut on EZ Mount cling foam.

Our Designers have been busy creating some fabulous artwork using these new releases be sure to stop by their blogs to see some of their creations using these new sets

    We're getting a facelift!!!

Artistic Outpost is getting a new storefront and website. We've outgrown the functionality of our existing website, and we are upgrading to a new site this weekend.

Our new website will feature enhanced galleries and an easier shopping cart. We'll also be able to feature items and offer special discounts to people like you with an improved coupon system.

As we work to convert our new site, www.artisticoutpost.com, will be unavailable. We anticipate being down from Friday evening until Sunday morning.

Our blog will not go down, fortunately, so be sure to check back here for information and inspiration.

We'll let you know when we're back online, and stay tuned...
